PRSA Hawaii Chapter President Receives Top PR Industry Credential

HONOLULU – (May 15, 2017) The Hawaii chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) announced the latest member to receive the industry’s prestigious APR credential – Jennifer Armstrong, APR of Kaia Consulting, who also serves as the chapter’s 2017 president.

The Accreditation in Public Relations (APR) is a mark of distinction for public relations professionals who demonstrate their commitment to the profession and to its ethical practice, and who are selected on the basis of broad knowledge, strategic perspective, experience and sound professional judgment.

Jennifer Armstrong, APR is the owner and principal of Kaia Consulting. She is currently serving as the 2017 president of PRSA Hawaii.

“My journey towards achieving the APR credential was beyond fulfilling,” said Armstrong. “The APR challenged me to prioritize my time and truly acknowledge my goals as a sole practitioner. Anytime you have the opportunity to review your craft in a more critical and fundamental way, it will prove to be beneficial to your clients, your community and yourself.”

“We applaud Jennifer’s commitment to our profession and welcome her to the ranks of Hawaii APRs,” said Shawn Nakamoto, APR, who serves as co-chair of PRSA Hawaii’s Accreditation Committee. “We encourage all PR practitioners to consider pursuing the credential as a way to further their professional knowledge and practice. PRSA Hawaii is currently offering an APR scholarship to help cover the costs of the exam and study materials.”

The deadline to submit applications for the 2017 PRSA Hawaii APR Scholarship is Friday, June 2, 2017. For more information on the APR credential, including how to apply and scholarship details, and to see a list of current PRSA Hawaii APR members, visit http://prsahawaii.org/APR-Program.
