Carolyn Fujioka was named Director of Public Affairs Hawaii for State Farm Insurance in 1995. She has worked for State Farm in a variety of capacities for 34 years. Her current areas of responsibility include legislative issues management, media relations, and community relations.
Carolyn earned her bachelor’s degree at the University of Southern California where she graduated Magna cum Laude and was a member of Phi Beta Kappa. She has been active in continuing education and earned her MBA from the University of Hawaii in 1987. In 1991, she earned the CPCU (Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriters) designation. In 2003, she earned the APR (Accredited in Public Relations) designation.
Active in the community, Carolyn currently serves as Chair of the Junior Achievement of Hawaii Board of Directors, as well as the Board of Directors for Youth Service Hawaii and the NFL YET Center, Boys & Girls Club of Nanakuli. She has previously served on the MADD Hawaii Council, and Board of Directors of the Hawaii HomeOwnership Center, National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors- Honolulu, Keiki Injury Prevention/SAFE Kids Hawaii and PRSA Hawaii. Carolyn is an active member of the Honolulu Sunrise Rotary Club and assists with its literacy programs. In addition, Carolyn is past chair of the Local Advisory Board of First Book Oahu, a national non-profit literacy organization that distributes books to low-income children.
