Amy Hennessey, APR, is the manager of foundation communications for Hawaii Pacific Health, supporting the philanthropy efforts of Kapi`olani Medical Center for Women & Children, Kapi`olani Medical Center at Pali Momi, Straub Hospital and Wilcox Hospital on Kauai. Previously, she was vice president at McNeil Wilson Communications for more than 12 years where her she provided counsel to clients in multiple sectors of business spanning travel and tourism, corporate, nonprofit, labor, government, utilities, real estate, retail and transportation.
She holds a bachelor's degree in journalism and a minor in marketing and management from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. An active, accredited member of the Public Relations Society of America - Hawaii Chapter, Amy currently serves as the professional liaison to the University of Hawaii's student chapter. Previously, she was chapter president in 2005 and chaired the annual PRSA Hawaii Koa Anvil Awards program for four consecutive years. She is also the recipient of PRSA Hawaii's 2002 Young PR Professional of the Year award and numerous Koa Anvil and Hammer awards for her work.
Amy devotes time to give back to the community through her service on the boards of nonprofits such as College Connections Hawaii, which is dedicated to improving educational opportunities for Hawaii's children. She also serves on the board of Community Links Hawaii, which provides nonprofit incubator support to help transform promising ideas into projects with a powerful impact for our community.
She is an alumnae of the Pacific Century Fellows class of 2008, and was named as a finalist for the Pacific Business News 2007 Forty Under 40 which honors young business professionals for their career and community achievements.
